Ceramic Tiles of Italy will participate at the NTCA Total Solutions Plus program. This year's event will be held in conjunction with the Ceramic Tile Distributors Association Management Conference and will also include the membership of the Tile Council of North America. Total Solutions Plus is an educational and technical conference and tabletop display for tile and stone contractors, distributors and manufacturers. Ceramic Tiles of Italy will offer visitors educational materials including our popular Ceramic Tiles of Italy Green Card, a tool that summarizes the top 10 reasons why Italian ceramic tile is sustainable.

The 83,000+ international attendees who attended Cersaie can sum up that answer in a four simple words: Style, Sustainability, Surroundings and Slim. This annual platform for design-driven products and state-of-the-art architectural solutions was recently held in Bologna, Italy from September 28 - October 2, 2010. With over 510 tile manufacturers present, the fair gave visitors a preview of the hottest, most innovative ceramic and porcelain collections before they hit the marketplace. On the style front, interesting cutouts, lace, oversized flowers, skinny stripes and mid-century modern stood out on the tile runway. In line with the times, visitors experienced a bounty of organic influences ranging from rustic wood-looks to natural stone and concrete. And who can forget about sustainable design and technological innovation? New slim formats, digital printing and tiles with antibacterial properties and photovoltaic panels were introduced by numerous companies at the show and will surely make a big impact on the A&D community throughout the year. The winners of the Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition 2010 were announced at the International Press Conference during Coverings trade show in Orlando. This year's winners represent a veritable 'who's who" in design industry. In the Commercial category, the award went to Karim Rashid for his bold use of tile, which he designed for Refin and DesignTaleStudio, in the Prizeotel Hotel in Bremen, Germany. MORE

Ceramic Tiles of Italy Returns to Florida for AIA 2010. Showcases Range of Innovation and Design-Forward New Tile Collections (Miami, FL, June 10-12)

Ceramic Tiles of Italy will continue its US spring tradeshow circuit with the AIA National Convention. The theme for the 2010 show is "Design as Exploration" and the CTI booth (# 379) has been coordinated to meet this overarching message. Designed by Italian architects Dante Donegani & Giovanni Lauda of D&L, it will showcase a range of new tile collections from Italy's leading producers. From commercial retrofits to new facilities clad in large format porcelain tiles, these products carry with them the time-honored history of tile and the future of architectural innovation. They are just one example of the diverse array of design-driven and sustainably-focused introductions that will be on display in the 2010 booth. More than 50 different pieces will be laid out on six well-lit tables so that guests can actually touch the products and move them around to compare the pieces with others on display. MORE

Just two weeks after Coverings, Ceramic Tiles of Italy will be back in action. This time, New York City will be the backdrop. The Italian Trade Commission and Confindustria Ceramica, the Association of Italian manufacturers, have set up a number of opportunities for trade professionals and design-savvy consumers to see what’s available in the marketplace. To start, products from 13 different companies will be on display in the CTI booth (#1420), designed by Italian architects Dante Donegani & Giovanni Lauda, at the ICFF. Beyond the show CTI will be actively promoting its local high-end retailers, dealers and distributors. Like last year, eye-catching flags bearing the Ceramic Tiles of Italy signature logo will be placed outside the entrances of participating Manhattan-based distributors of Italian tile. MORE

A Treat for the Senses at Coverings 2010 (Orlando, April 27-30)

Ceramic Tiles of Italy and its member manufacturers are ready to treat Coverings attendees to a true Italian experience. In its second year the CTI central exhibit (booth #4623) designed by minimalist architect Michael P. Johnson will be clad in tile from countertop to bottom to show the versatile, durable and hygienic properties of this building product. The exhibit will feature a ventilated wall façade clad in large format Italian porcelains, which will be used to demonstrate the ease of installation and technical benefits of this energy-saving system. Beyond the Surface: The Skinny on Italian Tile. February 16, 2010
Beyond the Surface: The Skinny on Italian Tile was a hit in Phoenix. Sponsored by Ceramic Tiles of Italy and the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA), the travelling program featured CEU accredited sessions from industry experts and gave attendees an opportunity to see what’s new in the local market.
The event began with a tour of the award-winning MobFab project, designed and constructed by students of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture.
The program was followed by two CEU accredited sessions. The first, presented by design journalist Jen Renzi, was focused on trends in the Italian tile industry. It was followed by a 1-hr seminar on installation and specification of large format tile presented by Gerald Sloan and Michael Whistler of NTCA.
